Scripture Reference Psalms 51:17
"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise."

Our Father in Heaven, I come before You today with a broken heart. I confess that I have hidden my hardened heart behind outward piety. I have lived through formal worship without true repentance. In this final week of Lent, break through the hard shell around my heart. Like David, let me hide nothing before Youβ€”let me bow before You in genuine contrition and repentance. I hold fast to Your promise that You will never despise a broken and contrite heart. Help me to prepare for Holy Week with sincere devotion. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Scripture Reference 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
"Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things."

Lord of love, we meditate on Your love revealed at the crossβ€”enduring all things, bearing all things. I confess that I grow easily angry, seek my own interests, remember others' wrongs and harbor resentment. In this Lenten season, teach me to follow Your love: to be patient, to be kind, to refrain from pride. Let me practice the love of the cross in the small choices of each day. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Scripture Reference Mark 10:45
"For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."

Lord, I desire to follow Your example of humble service. I meditate deeply on the love shown by giving Your life as ransom for me. Help me to set aside my desire for power and status, and grant me grace to serve those around me in lowliness. As I remember the price You paid, may I live in gratitude. In Jesus' name, amen.

Scripture Reference Hebrews 12:1-2
"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Lord, grant me the courage to lay aside the weights and sins that hinder my race. Like the great cloud of witnesses, may I keep faith unto the end. Above all, give me eyes fixed solely on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith. As He saw joy beyond the cross's suffering, help me endure this journey with patience and perseverance, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Scripture Reference John 12:24
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit."

Lord, we praise You as the grain of wheat that fell to the earth and died on the cross, bearing much fruit. Grant us the courage to bury our selfishness and greed, to let go of what we are reluctant to surrender, and to let Your life grow in that space. Lead us into a fruitful life. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

Scripture Reference Philippians 2:5-8
"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."

O Lord Jesus Christ, we worship Youβ€”the very form of God who emptied Yourself and took the form of a servant. Before Your humility, even unto the cross, I surrender my pride. Grant me courage to empty myself of all I cling to, as You did. Make this Lenten season a school of Christ's mind. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Grant me courage during this Lenten season to release what I cling to. Believing that the way of the cross is the way of life, help me take one step forward in following You today. Scripture Reference Ephesians 2:8-9
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Gracious God, I confess that my salvation is yours alone to give, not mine to earn. Forgive the pride that has sometimes led me to believe my good works could purchase your favor. I stand before you bankrupt of merit, yet rich in your unmerited kindness. Thank you for loving me not because I deserved it, but because you chose to. Grant me to live in the depths of this grace, and to pour it forth upon all those around me. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Scripture Reference Luke 15:20
"And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him."

Father God, I have been like the prodigal son. I took Your grace for granted and lived as I pleased, wandering far from You. Yet You waited for me. When I was still a long way off, You saw me, ran to meet me, and embraced me with a love that brings tears to my eyes. Today I return to Your arms. Thank You for accepting one so broken and unworthy. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Scripture Reference Psalms 32:5
"I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah."

Lord, I have hidden my transgressions for far too long. I have worn the mask of adequacy and strength, bearing the weight of guilt alone. This day I lay it all before You. The shame, the failures I have concealedβ€”I confess them to You. As You have promised, forgive my iniquities and fill my heart with the joy of confession. In Jesus' name, Amen.

In this season of Lent, I gather the pieces of my heart to lay before You. Grant me the earnestness to seek You with my whole being, and meet me as You have promised, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Scripture Reference Isaiah 53:5
"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

O Lord, I confess that Your piercing and bruising was for my sake. My transgressions and iniquities led You to the cross. Yet You stood willingly in that place of shame. Before such astounding love, I repent of my pride and indifference. Grant me a life that honors the peace and healing won by Your stripes, never treating it lightly. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

"But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut to thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."

Our Father who dwells in secret, I confess that I have often prayed while conscious of others' eyes. My heart has been captivated by visible piety. During this Lenten season, help me return to my inner chamber and pray with eyes fixed only on You. Grant me the joy of meeting You in depths that the world cannot see. In Jesus's name, Amen.

In your plenteous mercy I find not judgment but welcome. Teach me to call upon you without shame, trusting that your grace does not run thin. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Lord, I confess that I have often lived with a divided heart, pulled between the voices of the world and the still, small voice of Your Spirit. Draw me near to You this Lenten season, and help me to draw near to You in return. Cleanse my hands from the sins I cling to, and purify my heart from the double-mindedness that keeps me from fully surrendering to You. Quiet the noise around me so that I may hear Your voice and feel Your nearness. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

"Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."

Lord Jesus, Your call is both terrifying and beautiful: deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Me. I confess how often I have chosen comfort over obedience, my will over Yours. During this season of Lent, I come before You with open hands. I release the things I have been clinging to β€” my pride, my plans, my fears. Give me the courage to face my cross without running away. Let me trust that the path of surrender is the path of true life. You who carried the cross before me, be my strength as I follow You. Lord, I come as I am β€” stained and aware of it. I cannot make myself clean, and I have stopped pretending otherwise. In this season of Lent, I accept your invitation to reason together, trusting that the one who calls is the one who cleanses. Thank you that your answer to my guilt is not condemnation but conversation, not distance but nearness. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Scripture Reference Galatians 2:20
"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

Lord, today I lay down my old self before You. Nail my pride, my selfish desires, and my fears to the cross. Let it no longer be I who live, but Christ who lives in me β€” emptying me moment by moment to be filled with Your presence. May the love of the Son of God, who gave Himself entirely for me, be the axis around which my life turns. Help me hear Your voice above the noise of the world, and choose Your will over my own in every moment. In this holy season of Lent, I bow before the cross and confess: You alone are my life. Scripture Reference Romans 8:38-39
"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Heavenly Father, today I need the unshakeable conviction that Paul declares. When fear surrounds me and my weakness weighs me down, help me hold to the truth that Your love conquers all. Neither death nor life, neither today's troubles nor tomorrow's fears β€” nothing can separate me from Your love. As this Lenten season draws to its close, let me gaze upon the cross and confess: Your love is greater than my fear, deeper than my sin, wider than my limitations. Let me live within that love. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, from the depths of my heart I cry out to You today. The weight of my failures and the awareness of my weakness press heavily upon me. Yet I hold fast to Your promise that You hear the voice of my supplications. In this season of Lent, I lay before You the hidden fears and unconfessed sins I have carried too long. Lord, hear me. Lift me from the depths by Your mercy. Let my cry not be in vain, but met by Your grace and loving-kindness. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Loving God, during this Lent, restore in us the deep longing for Your presence. Reawaken the spiritual thirst that has grown dull amid abundance, and fill the void in our souls that nothing in this world can satisfy. Like David in the wilderness, may we confess that Your lovingkindness is better than life itself. Help us to seek You with our whole being, setting aside material comforts to pursue You alone.
